The 6th BIENNIAL OF STAGE DESIGN
The Biennial of Stage Design is the most wide-ranging and significant event in Serbia and this part of Europe dedicated to art, design and technology in performing arts. For its innovative, interdisciplinary concept it is relevant in the much wider international framework.
This festival of stage design and technology is a unique opportunity to present and critically evaluate the biennial stage production in our country in the five main categories (event design, applied stage arts, craftsmanship, performing space and promotion of performing events) and over 30 subcategories, which illustrate the complexity, variety and dynamic development of contemporary disciplines contributing to the production of stage events.
So far, several hundred creators of stage events have participated in the Biennial, and Biennial selection has included over 1400 works.
The program of the 6th Biennial of Stage Design was held from 7 to 30 September 2006 in the galleries of the Museum of Applied Arts, O3One Gallery, Cultural Centre DOB, Museum of the Yugoslav Film Archives and other venues in Belgrade. Part of the program is realized in cooperation with BITEF, the most significant theatre festival in this part of Europe and Prague Quadrennial /PQ/, world’s most extensive exhibition dedicated to theatre design.
